something’s off. Something’s VERY off! For the past few weeks, the Big Sister has been stationary at HIP 25679 to act as a base, mainly for my maelstrom diving operations. Even though I was focusing most of my attention on the Taranis Titan, every once in a while I also conducted smaller rescue & evac operations in the nearby systems under thargoid attack. I pretty much had a routine going of collection bio capsules, loading them onto my S&R poython and then swing by another systems to pick up refugees and delivering them all together to a rescue megaship. When I was preparing for such a run yesterday, I finally noticed it! I had my capsules already loaded but when I was checking the galaxy map to look for an evac mission, I could not find any inhabited system under thargoid attack or even alert…not a single one! This is deeply concerning to me! Sure, many people on the net celebrate this right now as “the tide of war turning” but anyone who truly believes that this is a result of humanities “great and heroic war efforts” is a fool! This feels much more like the calm before the storm!
I have had my very own suspicions and theories about the whole ongoing mess people call the “second thargoid war” for a whilenow.... I have kept them mostly to myself so far, but I believe now is the time to lay my cards on the table and share what I have come to understand: This is not a war! At least not to the thargoids. Just think back to the very beginnings of this conflict and recall the progression of events. With the arrival of the titans and their sudden intrusion into the systems of the bubble, everybody instantly screamed “INVASION” but once you look a little closer at what happened, this is no full scale invasion at all! When the titans arrived, we were completely unprepared! What little AX defenses Humanity had at the time was almost entirely relying on guardian tech, and the Titans instantly proved capable of completely neutralizing that. In reality we were completely defenseless! Had the thargoids truly intended to destroy humanity, they could have jumped right into the heart of the bubble, launch a concentrated attack from there and sweep through any of our systems with near zero resistance. They had the element of surprise, absolute technological superiority and larger numbers! But what they actually did was very different. Instead of sticking together to form a secure bridgehead, they spaced out along the edge of the bubble, spreading into their surrounding systems. That is no the tactic of an invader trying to defeat an enemy! They are not attacking humanity, they are COLLECTING SAMPLES! They are probing us! It should have been obvious from the moment we detected the human lifesigns inside the titans. Them spreading out along our outer boarders was an effort to collect a large number of “samples” with as wide a variety as possible. To what end they are doing this I cannot guess (yet) but after all I have seen and learned during my time along the front lines I am certain this is what we are facing right now. On that basis, looking at the current situation of their retreat from inhabited systems and the growth of those “spires” on surface sites, I can only conclude that their “probing phase” is now complete. I am certain the thargoids will start their next “phase” very soon now! What that next phase will be I cannot even begin to guess but I don’t want be caught sitting on the anvil when the hammer falls! Therefor I have ordered the Big Sister to jump 1000LY out of the bubble immediately. That might seem a little extreme but batter safe than sorry!
